Common questions
What does cloud migration involve?
Assessing your current systems, choosing what to move and how, migrating servers, applications and data in a planned order, testing each one, and switching users over with a rollback plan ready.
How long does a cloud migration take?
It depends on the number of servers, the amount of data and how tightly your applications depend on each other. A plan with dates and downtime windows is agreed after the assessment.
Will there be downtime during the move?
Usually a short window at cutover, planned outside working hours. Where the workload allows it, systems are synchronised beforehand so the switch is brief.
Is my data safe in the cloud?
Security depends on how the environment is configured: access control, encryption, network rules and tested backups. These are set up and documented as part of the migration.
Do we have to move everything?
No. Some systems are better left on site or replaced. The assessment separates these, and hybrid setups are common.
